Comodo Firewall is good. It is way more detailed in prompts than windows firewall. I don't think it would interfere with your programs.

I'm running Comodo at the moment along side Avast and Malwarebytes and it works fine. My only complaint with Comodo is that it also installs it's own chrome based browser and something called Geek Buddy but you can remove them seperately after the install. Still a pain in the ass though. Otherwise I've found it to be a pretty good firewall (in the past I've had ZoneAlarm, and Outpost and would rate comodo higher than those two).

From what I heard Comodo makes some of the best firewalls out there. It's what I personally use and recommend to family and friends.
