PSU HELP!!

Ghostly224

I bought an rtx 2070 super and my games have flickering black textures and on my desktop sometimes I get a lot of freezes and black triangles pop up. Cause these be due to my 500 watt power supply

Unless it is a very bad psu, it doesn’t sound the power supply is the issue. It sounds like there is an issue with the graphics card. My guess is bad/dead vram. Did you have this problem prior to putting in the 2070 super?

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I have a 500 watt 80 plus certified it isn’t 80 plus bronze. And I’m going to try with my rx 570 to see if I still have a problem

Yea

I couldn't find it on the psu tier list, but my guess is that is a lower end psu. However, it is good enough that it shouldnt be causing your issue. If you dont have the issue when you switch to a different graphics card, then you know for sure it is the 2070 super. In that case, contact the manufacturer about an rma to get a replacement.

Also, I would recommend upgrading to a better quality psu whenever possible.

Wait so 500 watt is enough for rtx 2070 super and Ryzen 5 3600?

Yes, the wattage is enough it just isn’t a high quality power supply. Take a look at the psu tier list in my signature, any of the ones in theirs b+ or above would be great for you.

It's there.  Under Tier "D".

It's an absolute shit PSU.

Why are you using a $30 PSU with a $500 graphics card???  Travesty.
