How to turn off EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 LEDs?

Jakub_NF

Hi, I wanted to turn off all the lights on the aforementioned card but EVGA Precision X1 doesn't allow me to do it. When I set the lighting mode to static off it only turns off the fan leds and the "EVGA GEFORCE 1080 TI" banner on the side.

There is also the bottom corner "FTW3" light, top "EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti" light and the 3 power (I think) leds on the side banner (images included). When I try to change the colour it only changes the underside and the banner but the backplate and FTW3 are always on and don't change colour. Is there any way to turn them off without having to de-solder  them like I did with the fan leds? Thanks

Arent they just on connectors to the card? Why do you have to desolder?

Last time I tried to remove them I nearly split the pcb in half and didn't even manage to move them a millimetre

Is there a specific reason you want to risk breaking the card just to turn off an LED? I used to have the FTW3 1080ti but I don't remember if the lighting effects also affected the back plate LEDs, I don't think they did. Personally I'd just deal with it rather than risk bricking or frying the card, just to turn off an LED, not worth it at all. If it bothers you that bad, sell the card and get something without RGB.

Ok, so I managed to unplug them (goes quite easy after breaking the connector sockets on the pcb) and I think I'll just leave the backplate one on as it's pure white.
