I just got a new laptop, the HP 15-DA0076NR. i3 7020u, Intel HD 620, 8GB Ram, and a 1Tb 5400 RPM HDD. The problem is that the iGPU is given 4 GIGABYTES of my 8GB total. With Windows 10 taking a gig on its own, I only have 3 GB to use for everything else. This means that a long enough time spent in any game results in severe stuttering, down to fractions of a frame per second, while my average fps is around 25. I've installed custom settings files for some of the games I play that remove shadows, reflections, particles systems, but it doesn't help. I've contemplated using a custom BIOS to gain access to change how much RAM is allocated because HP also didn't give an option to change that. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.
