Hi, what do you think of the parts I picked? My budget is ranging from 1.5 to 2k EUR. Note that I can source parts between France and Switzerland to cut the corners. Don't be to tough on judging if I made big mistakes, it's my first PC build in over 6 years.

My budget is not that tight, I mostly want a smart build with high quality parts. I really look for high frequency 32Gb RAM with upgradability option (hence the 2*16Gb 16CL 3600MHz option). I also want a 1Tb PCiE M.2 SSD, I understand that the Samsung EVO is a bit overpriced, but do you know a best option/value?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Budget (including currency): ranging from 1.5k to 2k EUR (1.6k to 2.1k CHF)

Country: France/Switzerland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple A gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Your parts list is private, so we can't see what you picked.

Do you need to build the system now? If you can wait a few months, you'll be looking at new Nvidia Ampere and AMD RDNA2 GPUs which should give you a good bit more performance for the money compared to what's available at the moment.

First of all, do you need 32gb of RAM?

You could save some by going 16gb and unless you intend to do non-gaming things or play MSFS, you most likely don't need it

Current System: Ryzen 7 3700X, Noctua NH L12 Ghost S1 Edition, 32GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz, MAG B550i Gaming Edge, 1TB WD SN550 NVME, SF750, RTX 3080 Founders Edition, Louqe Ghost S1

Wait for new parts, especially with that kind of $$$, or in your case €€€

I don't need it now but I intend to keep that build as long as possible. My usage is going to be mostly gaming yet I like to keep a secondary display with a few apps in the background. It's probably overkill but I am going for comfort here, unless I am totally wrong. I have been frustrated with setups that are lacking RAM and I really don't want to experience this ever again. Will keep that in mind though, thanks for the advice.

here is a 2K EUR build. I'd definitely wait at least for the GPU, but if you don't need it now wait for the entire thing

Very nice thanks, I think I will wait but starting to think about builds and getting back into the game. Small question though, no cooler for such a CPU? Would you go with OEM cooler and upgrade later?

The Wraith Prism will at least keep it cool at stock speeds most likely.

I personally bought a 3700X, am using the stock cooler and will likely upgrade to an AIO later on

A 3700x is plenty fast to keep up with the 2080 super. the 3600xt is overpriced when you can get the 3700x for a little bit more. You wont need 32gb ram and you can always add some more in later.
