USB-C Dock for port extension in other room

Solidzzle

We all know that Linus uses a thunderbolt 3 PCI-E Card in combination with a tb3 dock to get ports for his tv and living room toys. Since I have an x570 mb without tb3 support, I was wondering if something similar (with less bandwidth) can be achieved using usb-c extension and a powered usb-c dock that sits in the other room. I couldn‘t find much on usb-c extension cables. The classic alternative is to route all kinds of cables and even then it has always been a problem to even extend display port beyond 5m without tb3. Would this be possible with said usb-c setup? Does anyone have any experience with this?

How far? Officially I believe the max length is 3m, might work up to 5...

It would probably need around 5m. I am actually not even sure if you can buy 5m usb c extension cables...
