Power Supply Molex Adapter to 4-pin

You only need 1 8pin if you aren't overclocking with LN2.

I just upgraded to a 3950X and I am using a molex adapter to 4-pin because my PSU only have regular 8-pin. 

Is it ok to keep using it like that ? Or should I really just get a new PSU to avoid any kind of problems.

I wouldn't trust it.

Cheaper to buy a new PSU than to replace everything that breaks when it goes bang.

If it's a decent PSU it will last you 3-5 years anyway, probably more for the higher end stuff.

The extra 4 pin isn't necessary and is only used for heavy overclocking. Which with Ambient cooling you won't be able to do. 

A single 8 pin eps can provide up to 384w of power which with a 3950x. You won't really reach.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

What is the current PSU?

 

Also dont use it at all! The adapter that is. As you add a point of failure where there doesnt need to be any. 

 

The single 8-pin is more than sufficient for the board and CPU. As it can deliver 384w on its minimum spec. Which is far above what the 3950x can output.

Right now I am running a Be Quiet Straight Power 600.

 

By all that I think I will just unplug the 4 pin and call it a day. I am not overclocking so I guess it doesn't matter.

Unless you have LN2 on hand and do overclocking with LN2, you wont need it at all. 

 

Kinda doubtful you would need it even if you where to LN2 overclock.

You're better off NOT using the Molex to four-pin and just using the 8-pin.
