Audio recommendation

Hi everyone, thanks for taking your time,

 

I am beginner into this topic, but I want only to clear this two doubts for audio (maybe for you are going to sound trivial)

 

1) It is worth it to buy a Audio card for gaming and spotify music, youtube or is a overkill? I like to have sound quality,  if that, what are your suggestions?

2) Motherboard audio quality, I have seen in my little research that the asus motherboards has the best "integrated" audio in their motherboards series because of the amount of audio capacitors, is that important to consider when buying a motherboard the amount of capacitors or is just marketing? if that is more worth it to buy a decent motherboard and buy a audio card or buy a motherboard with decent audio?

Try out the onboard first. If it's not good enough for you then upgrade. But don't get a add in card, get an external DAC and amp or DAC/amp combo unit.

the biggest upgrade you can make to a set up is you speakers or headphones so base you signal chain (audio card or external solutions based on that). all I can say is its no overkill if you think you can push more performance out of your gear.
