I heard a grinding noise from my pc. Open up the panel to stop the fans with my finger and I realized that the noise was coming of my gpu. I have a 2060 super AMP edition (twin fan). There is nothing that hits the fan so it does not grind on another component. Tho when I touched the connectors for the power (6 pin and 8 pin) the noise came back but it was subtle. I cant really hear it but I have a suspicion that my psu is the problem here. The psu I have was originally bought for my 1050 ti G1 gaming which required less power than my current card. The psu is a Gigabyte B700h its an 80plus bronze unit.

If anyone has something to suggest please do!!

Thanks in advance!!

Well yeah but when i play with the connctors it stops for a little bit

run the card with a lower power limit, and see if it does the same when you touch it again.

With AMd we use radeon settings, with nvidia idk but most utilities should allow you to (msi afterburner etc)

you can also run a light load instead, lower resolution to get there.

I took the pc apart for maintenance and I changed the PCIE cable because the psu is a semi modular and after making the cable stay at an angle to not have any gpu sag the problem faded away. Thanks for the help though !!

Hey, remember the problem I had. Yeah its back. After last time I changed the PCIE cable and while the problem faded away its back. I was playing nfs heat and after cooling down the card started to do the electrical noise thingy again. Fiddling around with the connectors stops the noise but I cant really *mount* them somewhere to be able to make it stop. Should I buy a new power supply? I dont have a problem if I have to. I just want to know😂😂3 Σεπ, 02.53.aac

You're cursed with a once in a million times problem. Try to borrow a psu for a test. or slot ur gpu in someone else's computer for a test

Yeah thats what I'll probably do, tho as you said its a one in a million and that sucks cause I dont know whose fault is it. The PSUs or the GPUs

Ok so update, I called support from the shop I bought it from they said that I should probably contact zotac first before RMA. I tried to do something else tho. I gave the case I wouldnt say punch but I hit it lightly and the pinching/electrical sound was really audible and then I did it again and it stopped. I dont know what it is but I'll probably buy a seasonic gm 650W which is a good unit because even if the noise continues I will be sure that its the card. I also had another problem with my psu so that will probably help.

Well the shop should be able to provide this simple test I mentioned.

Τhey said that because I live in another city far from them, that I should do whatever I can in my own first like contact Zotac or put the card in a friends system but I remembered that when playing a game called car mechanic simulator the psu did a high piched noise and when turning things to low it was resolved, so I wanted to change it anyway

Percussion repairs, the tried and true fix-it-all.

Sounds like there was a loose cable or something similar that was brushing against a fan.

Handles the pc's with care😂

I'll still change the power supply cause it has been doing weird things anyways. Yesterday I needed to unplug and replug the pcie connectors to get signal and also it coil whines really loudly when playimg car mechanic simulator 2018

Signal for what? and where was the coil whine coming from?

Signal for the monitors (output), the psu coil whines when playing the game at higher than low settings even if the computer can handle much more than that.

ok replace the psu anyway

XD, thanks. Also would you say that the Seasonic GM 650 80+ Gold is good?

I don't know. Check out reviewers that test them with current measurement devices. Ask in the PSU forum.
