so after a week of asking in this forum and in other forums and watching benchmarks online and comparing price and with the help of the people i ended up with a decision between these 2 trios:

number 1:

10600k

gigabyte vision g

vengeance 16gb 3600mhz cl18

number 2:

10700kf

asus prime z490-p-si

dark Za 16gb 4000mhz cl18

the gigabyte motherboard has 3 pcie slots which is good for the future, 7 usb 3.2 connectors at the back(now im using 4 and the asus one has only 4 :/), 6 sata out puts (now i have 6 and im using 4 of them so getting a motherbord with 4 sata ports like the asus one is canceling future upgrades for a cheap storage hdd or something like that) and to be honest, im not sure if this asus prime motherboard will be able to hold that 10700kf or a 5.3ghz overclock. i saw online that prime motherboards have pretty bad vrm cooling

i am going to overclock the cpu so im not that sure about this asus mb with the 10700kf and thats why im asking here.

id like you hear your opinions

with a 10th gen intel, i would be more worried about thermal throttling...

Please mark as helpful and informative so my profile looks better.

if you are only gaming get a 10600k. as for the board

the vision g is better, but even the z490-p is capable of handling a 10900k. consider the tomahawk as well which is slightly better than the vision g.

if that's not the main focus, i would say the 10600k should be fine, though if you are mainly editing just go with a 3700x.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

i dont mainly edit its just a hobby for now but if ill start making money from it ill consider an upgrade to the 10700k/10900k so i think that starting with a good mb even with the 10600k is important

not that the vision g is bad, its just the tomahawk for the same price is better.

if you have plans to take it more seriously go with ryzen since it scales up to 16 cores for now. and intel's platform does not.
