There's a tendency among ppl trying to assemble computers (mostly home-made, not mainstream office builds could be found in a supermarket) to not to really consider the feasibility of PC components purchase. For the most amateurs, it is pretty OK to just purchase some noise-maker GPU (like 1070-1080 TI; if we stick to NVidia), and all would say that you have to try to save some money to get a better CPU. 

 

So, once all the basic components are purchased, and the final thing is to complete your build is to get some GPU, what would be the basic rules for one to pick one?

By trying to analyze data collected, I am not still sure, what would be the answers for my situation. 

 

"Eastern" PC Builders often say, that, let's say an X Graphics card will not "express its potential" if you put it in pair with a Y processor, meaning that there are some values, which are feasible (You can of course put some RTX TITAN GPU to the Pentium Gold, but it is insanity by any means). And i believe that there are similar rules concerning choosing a GPU and the amount of RAM you have (to have an equal load between CPU, GPU and RAM, lets say 80% load for everything).

 

With all that said, I assume the following:

If I have a CPU which is something near 4x4 (like 9350k in my case) and 16 GB of RAM (Limited amount due to my ITX MB form-factor), what should be the GPURAM to RAM factor in my case? 2 or 3?

Means, will it be feasible to get 6 or 8 GB GPU? (if memory clock/bus width and memory types are more or less the same).

 

For builds using youngest i7, assemblers are trying to use 1050TI+, and the minimal amount of RAM they are using is single-channeled 16 GB (2x8) (with the perspective of adding another 16 later to load all 4 RAM slots).

 

In my case, for i3 type processors and 16 GB builds (they test on 1440x900 resolution, but i myself use 4k monitor for video watching (for that integrated intel gpu is fine btw) / premiere pro endeavors (intel GPU is not enough and there are green stripes in premiere pro when I try to watch some video; not for top tier gaming), and in this case, what would you suggest? Choosing some GPU of 6 or 8 GB?

 

I have almost full aorus build (engulfed in RGB of course), z390 I PRO WiFi, aorus gaming ram, aorus gaming SSDs, Fractal design PSU, Era ITX Case, Celsius S24 cooling, water-cooled RGB gaming chair :D

By now, given that i am not really going to play tomb raider with my UHD display using maximal settings (but still I do need nvidia shadowplay support and nvidia creator ready drivers), I was thinking about this options (trying to stick to gigabyte/aorus brand):

System RAM has absolutely nothing to do with dedicated GPU RAM. Don't take it into account when getting a GPU.
