Powering DT880s with an interface

Lovrom8

Hello,

I was wondering if running BD DT880s 250Ohm ( https://europe.beyerdynamic.com/dt-880-black-special-edition-250-ohms.html ) of an interface would be a good idea? I'd like to use it for guitar stuff + a mic, together with the headphones.

From what I've read for eg, UMC202HD

or 2i2 can't really power them comfortably (kinda getting varied experiences, but I'd rather not gamble)

So is there any interface thingy that would be okay for this purpose in 150-200€ range (the cheaper the better, of course 😉)?

Or would something like Fiio K5 (not K5 Pro, so amp only, which still goes for something like 100 or so € here) + UMC202HD interface do the trick?

Thank you!

That should do the trick. @The Flying Sloth know more than me about interfaces. But all I know is you probably need the K5 pro with the behringer interface.

202HD can power 250ohm Beyer dynamic headphones according to to the manufacturer, that first link you posted is about the UMC22 not 202HD and Focusrite 2i2 is supposed to be able to power them but so far nobody I've spoken to has had a good experience.

But like with Focusrite, the manufacturer could always be wrong, if so there's always the MA400, cheap as anything, all it is is an amp, all it does is amplify but you can also use it to set up sidetone if that's something you're interested in, plus the interface inputs are great for using studio mics.
