Build for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly MSFS2020 (Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020) and programming.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

So microsoft published sys req:https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/360014314600/MSFS-specs.jpg and I want the Ideal specs, but 9800x isn't available and I can only buy any i7-10700 variants or i9-9900/10900 variants.

also, I dont want to spend a lot of money, this is my current build that I maybe can upgrade:

Take a look at this build. It has you keeping your storage (plus adding some more), case, and powersupply. The majority of the cost is the gpu. If you dont need the computer immediately, you can wait a couple of months and get the new generation of gpu and cpu which will be more performance (you might be able to get a cheaper graphics card then).

And your current build looks wrong to me. You sure you have DDR3 with an i5-6500?

you are currently between minimum and recommended. depending on what resolution you're playing at and what level of detail you want, you might be fine as it is.

if you want to get close to the ideal spec,sell your current build and start from scratch. i'd get a ryzen 7 3700 and a rtx 2070 super. that should fit your budget.

Never used an AMD CPU, why is it better than Intel?

And yes I do have DDR 3 with 6500, what's wrong with it?

Better value. But a 3700X would be a better choice vs the 3600 if Microsoft is correct for recommending 8 cores 16 threads with the "ideal" spec. I suspect there will be a lot of decompression with MSFS 2020 since a lot of the game world is streamed in, so more cores may be needed.

The best value intel CPU for gaming is the i5 10600K, which get's nearly the best gaming performance available when overclocked. The best CPU for gaming overall is the i9 10900K, but that seems to be outside of your budget.

 

The i7 10700 and i7 10700K don't make sense to buy vs the AMD counterparts.
