Hi, i’m just building a new pc & the fans are working and cpu too just no sign from the graphics card. A red light is turning on in the motherboard too that says VGA.

I’m an amateur this is my first build.

i think i messed the power cables, i have an rtx 2070 super & there’s a 8x6 pin but i have two 6x2 pins. So i plugged one 6x2 and one 6 & left the 2 pin hanging. Is that the problem. Hope i don’t blew something up.

Not the problem, that's what you're suppose to do.

Ensure the power cables are properly seated into the PSU. Your monitor is plugged into the videocard, right?

Furthermore, if the problems persist, I would try reseating the videocard.

Push that back part so it latches back, then take out the videocard (doesn't need to be taken out of the case fully) and then insert it back in.

Of course do these things when the PC and PSU is turned off.

Yes i plugged the monitor via hdmi to the graphics card. I’ll try pulling it out of the bracket and then back in & will let you know. Thanks for your time

IT’s FIXED. Thanks so much the both of you. I truly appreciated. I removed the graphics card & plugged it back in & turned it on & it works got a signal. I get a red dot for both cpu and card for a sec after starting,on the motherboard. Does it mean somethings wrong ?

No, the motherboard will do that every time it boots. It's checking for errors before booting, they will disappear after a few seconds.
