HD 7770 Zerocore with DVI?

Ok guys, while idle, my card dees not stop it's fans. I heard that I need to connect the monitor on the physical card's DVI port. I use HDMI to DVI (my monitor has only DVI and.........VGA). My questios are:

Is this true? If I buy a DVI-DVI or DVI(M)-HDMI(F) cable/adapter will it work?

Will a dual link DVI cable work in single link mode? Some users reported that it did not.,...  (blank screen)

The man who told you that is an idiot, it's totally wrong. Just download MSI Afterburner and manually change the fan speed of your GPU.

Still not working with Afterburner custom fan profile. Even if it's 0%, the fans don't stop, because of pwm manegement. This is not the problem. I'm a silent freak and I want the fans to stop when the display is in power saving mode.

you want the fans to completely stop, the fans will never completely stop the lowest it will go is 20% i think.

Ordered a DVI dual link cable. I think the problem will be solved and ULPS will work properly now. I'll update the topic in one or two days.
