First:  Provide more information that just "some corrupt files"

The only thing I can come up with, with the provided information is for you to backup any important files and a complete reinstall of the OS.

Alienware Area 51m 2019:  RTX 2060 | i7-9700 | 32GB Corsair Vengeance (2x16GB) 2666 | 1TB 970 EVO | 240GB Corsair Force MP510.

Your files are probably ok. Updating Windows problems may have many reasons. Just tell us what is wrong with update.

WU_E_PT_HTTP_STATUS_FORBIDDEN. Windows likes to throw this when there is a corrupt download.

  • Run command prompt as administrator
  • in cmd -> net stop wuauserv
    • if it fails, just retry.
  • Using the file explorer, navigate to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything inside this folder.
  • in cmd -> net start wuauserv
  • check for updates / retry updates.

Do you used any tool to control or change the way updates works before?

Also - upgrade should fix most of that type of problems.

Your only supposed to delete whats in the download folder... I am not sure what everything in the distribution folder does or whether it's important.

If it fails after emptying the Downloads folder, try disabling your Anti-Virus software temporarily. If anything else is causing the error, I am not sure how to fix it without tracing it, so I have no advice after that.
