Can I use 2 Single Channel memory sticks for Dual Channel?

Go to solution Solved by bmx6454,

running one stick of ram is single channel, it becomes dual when you use a compatible second one in the correct slot. so yes, that would work.

Suppose I have a single channel ram stick in my pc and I decide to buy another single channel of the same model, would I get the benefits of dual channel?

So two 1x8 sticks would give the same results as one 2x8 sticks?
