What do you think about this? Cat 6 Ethernet Cable 50 ft White - Flat Internet Network Lan patch cords – Solid Cat6 High Speed Computer wire With clips& Snagless Rj45 Connectors for Router, modem – faster than Cat5e/Cat5 - 50 feet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WD017GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KLDcFbSAK0RR2

Perfect, I use the same but at 100ft.  Gives me my full Gigabit connection.

The main difference is bandwidth. You could find a spec breakdown by googling them.

Cat 5 is totally enough for gaming, you don't need massive bandwidth for online play. What really matters is latency, which will be affected by your service provider and router, not the cable.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Keep in mind Cat5 is technically only rated for 100Mbps while Cat5e is rated for gigabit and the price difference is basically 0 at this point so no sense in not getting Cat5e at minimum. Beyond that it's do you need 10Gbps over distance where Cat6 and Cat6a come into play but I agree even 100Mbps for gaming is far more than enough since most online games use somewhere between a few kbps to 1-2Mbps worst case.

Get whatever length cat5e you need and call it the day. If you need to run that cable more than 100 meters get cat6 instead. Anything above Cat6 is just pointless with consumer level hardware.

Actually copper ethernet is speced for 100 meters regardless of category rating. Over roughly 100m for any category rating and you need a switch or something else to repeat the signal to go further.

Cat 5e is dirt cheap these days. Hell, you might even find an office that's downsizing and throwing away old cables. You could possibly get one for free.

Lol, very true.  I took home a box of 20x 10' patch cables from my old job, took me 3 years to pass them all out to friends and family and neighbors.
