New pc not working as expected?

I just put together a new rig and it’s not working as good as my friends who’s computer is 5 years old and I have without a doubt better parts all the way down the line of the build? What is something that could be going wrong with my pc?

First of all. 

That's not 5 years old. Second of all. 

What tasks ? What's "not as good" what do you mean by that. You literally gave us no information.

We were playing Minecraft and his FPS was higher than mine, he told me it was 5 years old i didn’t look into it too much. I just looked up comparisons of the parts and mine should perform better.

Same graphical fidelity?

Our temps are also both pretty solid so I know that’s not an issue

Maybe he's playing at a different resolution and in-game settings?

Same resolution 1920x1080, I’ve tried turning down the in game settings to low and I just can’t get out the same FPS

And no i don’t have vsync on

Don't worry about comparing your system to your friends. Just look up benchmarks for your specific specs in Minecraft and see if you are getting similar results
