https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jMByCL is the pcpartpicker list. Is there something I could improve on, and is the PSU good enough for this rig? Can it also be overclocked?

If I were you, I'd spend the extra money to upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 5 3600. You could even drop the extra cooler to cover the increase in price, and just use the cooler that comes with the CPU. If you don't overclock, the stock cooler works just fine, and the extra performance from the Ryzen 5 3600 will definitely help. You can always easily upgrade the cooler later if you want to overclock. As far as the PSU goes, the one you're getting will provide plenty of power. As PCPartPicker says, your build should only use around 350-400 watts.

Edit: Yes the PSU will provide enough power, but I'm not sure how good of a PSU it actually is

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

not sure that motherboard is a good investment. no reviews out yet for it and looking at its vrms, seems pretty bad.

otherwise, looks good.

what model psu do you have at the moment/

Edit: just saw the psu in your list. it;s bad, you'll have to change it.

I already have a PSU, so won't be looking for a new one yet.

Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 230V 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply. Should I look for a different motherboard, and should it be a b550 board?

I think the PSU OP listed is one they already have. It's listed under existing items in the post.

you can get away with a b450 board, they are cheaper. a asrock pro4 or a msi pro-vdh, mortar, a-pro, gaming plus, tomahawk will do.

for b550, there are lots of models, some are good, some are bad, depends on what's available to you.

i would get a new psu.

I don't think you'll need 3 fans. Get one and get a better Motherboard maybe.
