Having a newer version of Bluetooth = lower latency on bluetooth keyboards?

Newblesse Obblige

I know the dongle must be near the keyboard(or any bluetooth device in general) but in this case, the dongle is near font I/O port or the at the front of the keyboard via USB hub. Does the version of the bluetooth matter in terms of latency? because my mechanical bluetooth keyboard(BT 3.0) has some latency when my dongle(BT 2.0) is at the rear I/O.

I can't test it anymore because I lost my bluetooth dongle when I'm cleaning my PC. I was thinking of buying a new BT dongle that has BT 4.0. Will that reduce the latency?
