Hello guys, So I tried to open the UEFI application on my HP desktop in the bios.

When I boot it up I press the Esc button until a blue screen pops up with (System Information, Setup, etc.) and Open UEFI application is included.

However, when I try to open the UEFI app nothing happens, it's like if it doesnt exist on my pc but still is compatible. (every other thing works when I press Enter)

My motherboard is a Hewlett Packard 1497 Bios version : J01 v02.33 I believe.

I'm new to UEFI and Bios, how do I get this opened ? Should I install something? If it's not compatible, then why does it show up? Why can't it open?

I would love your help.

I guess you want setup...

"Open UEFI Application" is for opening a specific application provided by you.

What do you really mean by provided by "you"? Should I open it with a usb key? Should I install it? Is it compatible with my hardware? Is it dangerous?

It means forget about it, it's not what you want. You'd only use that if you were developing UEFI applications or was a system admin with specific requirements for running a third party UEFI app.

What you're probably looking for is just the Setup.
