I was watching a video last night when my left audio channel suddenly cut out completely. I'm using a schiit modi multibit / magni3 / DT 1770 pros but the problem doesn't seem to be with any of the connectors (it's still there with a different set of headphones off of front IO) I've updated / uninstalled / reinstalled all of my audio drivers but still nothing. The levels are at 100 for left and right in audio settings. Thoughts?

system is

Asus Z170-A

EVGA gtx 1070

i7 6700k

thoughts?

update: for some reason both channels work when using the rear RCA on the Magni3, it's now also working with rear IO but still not front IO, so it seems like it is a hardware problem (or rather two of them)

I'd say locate where the front IO is plugged in on your motherboard. Disconnect and then reconnect your front IO

What does your configuration look like? I'm assuming a 3.5mm to RCA cable, correct? To me it sounds like a bad port or cable (likely cable). Buy yourself a nice gold plated version of the same cable and it should last you a long time.
