so my MOBO will automatically set the old sticks timings to match the 16-18-18 instead of its current 16-16-16 and downclock the new sticks speed from 3200mhz to 3000mhz?

Theoretically yes

Mix and matching ram doesn't always work tho so I can't guarantee it

Hi everyone,

I currently have an ASUS B450-f gaming mobo with 2x8GB DDR4 TEAMGROUP T-force Delta RBG 3000mhz CL16-16-16-39 1.35v ram sticks in it.

Just got my hands on 2x8GB DDR4 TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta TUF GAMING RGB 3200mhz CL16-18-18-38 1.35v sticks and was wondering if i can add those to my build as is or would i need to go into the BIOS to change the settings manually.

Thanks in advance for the advices. :)

They will work

Both will be set on the worse timings so 16-18-18 and on the slowest frequency so 3000 but why do you need 32 gigs ?

16 for a casual user is more than enough

@TofuHaroto well i got the 3200mhz kit as hand me downs last week ^_^".
so my MOBO will automatically set the old sticks timings to match the 16-18-18 instead of its current 16-16-16 and downclock the new sticks speed from 3200mhz to 3000mhz?

But the thing is i have the XMP profile on in my BIOS and running in dual channel but i don't know why in CPU-z my ram speed is not showing the proper 3000mhz speed.
