is bluestacks safe?

im wondering if bluestacks is safe for my windows 10 pc. does it have any adverse effects on my pc? for example, slowing it down, stopping it from sleeping, adding a type of malware. also what would the best settings be for me to use to minimise the impact it might have on my pc's performance?

It's pretty much just an Android emulator...so yeah it's safe as long as you don't download some offsite copy of it from somewhere else.

BlueStacks is just an emulator

No harm to cause 

It's just not that good of an emulator ( at least from what I have seen)

Not from what I've seen as I've only had one game that instantly crashes on load and there will be a few that won't work or will have issues (like taking several attempts to get a game to run without stalling or crashing).

I've used bluestacks for 5 years it works fine, just make sure you download it through the official website don't download it from some sketchy site.

Well another alternative for Bluestacks is NoxPlayer, I both used them in the past, they just did the work fine, I only played Clash of Clans back then.

On my PC tho Windows7 deleted it because of a malfunction , then a file or 2 must have gotten corrupt and I can't re-install it...so keep your eyes on that .
