Cloud Stinger core 7.1 vs cloud stinger

Mando772004

Which headphone is better in terms of audio gaming wise. i know its the stinger core 7.1 is 7.1 and can be switched to stereo but i was wondering which one is known for better audio gaming wise? and is there any other big difference between the 2 headsets other than the price?

Thanks in advance.

The whole thing with the "7.1 surround sound" is that it is a marketing gimmick. It is a virtual surround sound that is not very good. I got the corsair void pro 7.1 under the impression that it would help, but i just use it on stereo. Best bet is getting Corsair HS35/HS50

Well, in reality both are stereo headsets. They only have two drivers in them.

The 7.1 comes with it's own USB DAC so it doesn't rely on onboard audio and I guess it ships with their virtual 7.1 software, but you can use literally any aftermarket software too, for example razer has one for free.

It won't magically put 6 more speakers into your headset, it will just simulate to sound more "realistic" (some like it, some don't. I don't)

The Stinger has different drivers though so it will generally sound different even without the 7.1 stuff. I don't know if better or worse, you should look up specific reviews/comparisons.

In general, the virtual 7.1 is good in that it can do a better job differentiating front and back sounds. I can't speak to the implementation on this specific headset though.

If you want a more detailed explanation -
