Still having issues with Steam, please help!

Hi, so lately to use Steam I've just been using it on Google Chrome to talk to my friends but with the Onslaught DLC out for Ghosts I want to get into Steam and download it. However Steam is being stubborn and when I start it it comes up with the checking for updates box, then it continues to not download a supposed 80MB update. I've tried re-installing Steam but to no avail and I was wondering if it may be the features in the programs section in the Control Panel that is making this happen. I'd really like to know what you guys think, and I'd really appreciate any help.

So you are unable to get on Steam because it won't update? How about posting the last few lines of the error it gives in your logs?

That's what I get for ~2mins. I have no idea why it is either taking so long to download it or if something else is the problem.

@dragosudeki also it went up to 1,000Kbs, now it's at 500  :angry:.

Okay here is a link to Steam support that talks about that same error you are having. Thought I might even be that your connection keeps cutting off or something.

K, I'll try that stuff thanks. But no it's not my connection as then I wouldn't be able to watch YT.

Still nothing, I uninstalled Norton security, MSI Afterburner and Kombustor and anything that's from Apple. I did uninstall McAfee and Origin before and that didn't anything as well. 

Also I feel stupid, I didn't put this in Troubleshooting sub-forum derp, could a mod/admin move it there please?
