Need Help With GPU selection...

Country: Bangladesh (Asia)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Playing Games with low to Medium Settings. Photoshop & Illustrator too.
 

My Config:
CPU: Core i3-3240, Expansion Options: (PCI Express Revision: 2.0)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 2500 (Base Frequency: 650 MHz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte H61M-S2PV (rev. 2.2), Expansion Slots: 1x PCI Express x16 slot (3.0)
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz
SSD: 120 GB

My Question: This is my current build (from 2014). I want to upgrade my pc with a GPU for little graphics performance boost. I got confused because my CPU supports PCI Express 2.0. But My motherboard supports PCI Express 3.0. I though about GT 1030 2GB, But I don't know If that'll bottleneck or not. Please Help. Thank you.

that sytem is really bad for gaming. i would sell the system and look used systems online. otherwise get rx 470 or rx 560 used depending on your psu.

What Power Supply do you have Aya? Also are is your computer in a full size case?

A normal psu. maybe 200-250W. It was very cheap. I would buy one if I need.

Is grabbing a hd 7950/7970 for about 30-50$ equivelent an option? And then picking up a system power 9 400/500w or a cx450/550 or CV650

Hello Brother

First of all I would not go further with this build. I would suggest you to save the money and go for an AMD build later.\

Secondly if you do want to upgrade, and concerned about the bottleneck issue , I am concerned if your CPU will work with the 1030, cz your CPU supports upto PCIe gen 2. Even if it did it'll get half the performance...Yeah so , not an option on upgrading your GPU , upgrade your CPU first
