So today I went to my pc to do some work and I go to chrome but then it says I’m not connected to internet. I ran the trouble shooter it said something about not having  a IP address in it so I put one in that was for my network but it still doesn’t work. Does anyone know what the problem is?

If your computer is connected to a router (e.g. that of your ISP) it should normally receive an IP address and other networks settings from the router's DHCP server.

If you manually enter an IP address, you have to make sure the address matches your network. To be able to connect to the internet, you'll also need to set a DNS server (that of your ISP, or something like 9.9.9.9, 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or 1.1.1.1)

👆Yeah what he said.

@ISHAJDM

If you enter in your own I.P address, you gotta make sure its subnet mask is correct and is within the address range of the modems default gateway as well. You also have to manually select a DNS server.

Unplug the power to all of your network devices for about 2 minutes then plug them back in starting from the modem/gateway, wait a few minutes for it to fully boot up, followed by your router/switch. Reboot your PC and check for connectivity.
