Trying to set up a list of new PC parts!

Go to solution Solved by Aricu,

Okay so i read around a bit and got unsure of the 550w power supply i was recommended, and i do not know what other ones to choose. Plus i am getting confused with corsairs different CX, RM and TX power supply's, halp!

Hello!
I remember hearing of this forum a while ago and thought i could maybe get some help here.
So, you could say my old PC just went to shit, and i am creating a list of parts for a new system, just in case we cant get my old one working.
The problem is, i have no clue if that list is good, so i would love feedback on it, so i could make the best system possible, for my budget of around 1600$ or less

Edit: This system will be used mostly for gaming, some video recording along with editing and photoshop

The parts are the following:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with the stock cooler
ASUS ROG STRIX B450-E GAMING, Socket-AM4 (motherboard)
- HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (Ram)
- Samsung 860 EVO 250GB SSD
- Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 3.5'' HDD (2 of them)

Corsair 275R Airflow Mid Tower Black
- Corsair CX650M, 650W PSU
- ASUS Radeon RX 5700 XT ROG Strix OC

P.S: I would like to know if there are any advantages or disadvantages with using AMD cards rather than Nvidia

Thanks so much!

I'm going to assume you'll be using h264 for video editing

Change this board and get something like a tomhawk max

It will be a lot better value

If your looking at the x570 side get a x570-p or a tuf

HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (Ram)

These are fine

They don't use b die iirc and use microns or hynix IC's

Tho 3600 would be totally possible to fit with this budget so look for kits that are rated at that

Corsair CX650M, 650W PSU

It's a good psu

But for 1600 dollars ( assuming it's just a PC and not a set up ) get something like a tx550m or a 650m of an rm550x or a 650x ( and yes 550 is enough )

With 1600 dollars ( as I said assuming all of it is for the pc ) you can get a 2080 super unless it's 1600 for the whole setup

its 1600$ for the whole system yes, and a few questions:
What is H264?
And do you mean the: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK? cannot afford a x570 board, puts me over the current budget
and for me, it said the RX 5700 XT was rated for 600w, would 550 be safe?

Currently 5700xt is the recommendation because it is much cheaper and only performs a little bit worse. The downsides are it doesnt have raytracing or nvec encoding. There are also some problems that people have with amd drivers that are mostly fixed now.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

It is something on the card that is used for video encoding when streaming and editing. But I am assuming you are not doing very heavy editing, so it shouldn't make a difference for you.

I was planning on starting to use premier Pro, would that be a little to much?

Not at all. But take a look at this part list. I was able to fit a 2080super in it. The case is the white version cause the black is showing as a really high price on pcpartpicker.

Okay, so im already noticing how much more expensive parts are from my dealer here in norway, compared to sites like ebay, here the Ryzen 7 3700x is around 350$ and the RX 5700XT is normally around 570$, now i have no clue where i should order my parts from.. suggestions?

Oh, I was assuming you were in the US. I will put together a build with Norway set as the location.

Alright, this seems quite promising, almost the same as i got from the other dealer. Thank you so much
But my question is, would it be smarter to order from outside the country, like from ebay, where the Ryzen 7 is cheaper even with shipping, by about 50$? id assume this would be the same case for other components as well

Edit:
Okay im a dummy, the ryzen 7 on ebay was at a discount price
