Hi guys wondering if you have any ideas on this issue.

I have just upgraded from a 1030 to a RX 570. I uninstalled all the Nvidia drivers and turned the pc off at the mains. Replaced the 1030 with the 570 and connected the 8pin power for the GPU. Turned the pc back on at the mains and the led on the Mobo and GPU both lit up. Pressed the power button and nothing at all happens.

I have an I5 3470s, Asus P8H61 - MX 2 Mobo, Corsair CX 430 PSU, 8gb DDR3 1333, 240gb SSD, 500gb HDD.

I have tested it with the old gpu and with the onboard but still nothing happens when I try the power button. Any suggestions would be great as I'm stumped.

What power supply are you running in your system, it could be that the new GPU requires more power which can't be delivered by your PSU?

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

Thanks for the reply I have a Corsair CX430. If that was the issue my old 1030 would still work in the pc but I can't get it to boot with that either or the onboard graphics.

I wouldn't recommend using a 430w PSU on your system, at the least I would recommend 500w and 550w-650w if you want some expansion room. Using a underpowered PSU could cause damage to your power supply if it's constantly struggling to run at 100%. Does your power supply have a gray label or does it have the older yellow/orange label?

You may have accidentally bumped into a cable and disconnected it, double check that the necessary cables are securely connected, do you have a spare PSU for troubleshooting purposes?

I would recommend this PSU as a replacement/upgrade to your current one:    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014W3EMAO/ref=twister_B089PCQ9MK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I checked before getting the rx570 and Asus recommends a 450watt PSU. I thought 430 would be close enough since I'm only using an i5, boot ssd, 1 stick of 8gb ddr3.

I've just spent the last while stripping the whole pc and testing it on my desk. It still won't boot with the rx570, 1030 or the onboard GPU. The motherboard is still showing the power led and so is the Rx 570 power led.

I have also reset the CMOS and clrtc jumper. I'm starting to think the mobo is faulty. I'm going to try my new GPU in a friends pc hopefully and might see if I can try his PSU.

Try clearing the cmos and booting without the gpu installed. See if you can boot that way. If it does, then shut down and reinstall your gpu to test again.
