Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my wraith stealth cooler to a new one as I'm getting very high temperatures, and my PC even shuts down while I'm playing. (I have a different topic about it already.)

Unfortunately, my PC case (Cooler Master K350 https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/k350-rc-k350-kwn2-en/ ) only supports CPU coolers up to 148.5 mm in height. Therefore, I'm stuck with low profile ones as I haven't found any full-size one that's under this limit.

What do you guys recommend? This far I came across 2 Noctua ones that may work, an NH-L12S and an NG-L9a. (Though I'm a bit worried about they interfering with my RAM. (My mobo is a B450 Tomahawk MAX, and my RAM is 2x8 GB Vengeance 3600Mhz.) But ofc I'm open to all suggestions!

If the L12S fits in your case, then it's a solid choice. There's also the be quiet Dark Rock TF which comes it at 130mm height, and that'll outperform the L12S, though it definitely is bulkier.

That being said, unless you're running an overclock on your CPU, the stock cooler should be enough to keep your CPU at safe temperatures. Make sure it's properly mounted to the CPU, and also make sure that you've at least half decent airflow inside the case, before going out and spending money on a new cooler.

I have both an intake and an exhaust fan, but unfortunately my options are limited with this case to this setup. I'm pretty sure it's mounted the right way, I was following a tutorial while doing it, but if I put my side panel on, the PC shuts down after a while of playing ( I suspect that it's because of overheating, but here's a more in depth thread about it:

In that case, I'd instead look at buying a new case. Looking up the case you're using it looks like it's quite old and not very airflow friendly.

If anything, try slightly undervolting your CPU to reduce the heat output, even if by a little bit. In the BIOS, you should apply a negative voltage offset, something like -0.05V to -0.10V should reduce temperatures a decent bit while not affecting performance.

Those little Noctua coolers are not that great.. maybe one of these would be better.

Okay @Mateyyy, thanks for letting me know :)

If possible, I'd rather avoid buying a new case. I don't really want to go through all the hussle of rebuilding it, plus I love my current one, I think it looks really good. The airflow could be better ofc, but I think it's far from the worse. But if you think that even with a beefier CPU cooler I would struggle cooling down the CPU, then I may consider it.

@freeagent Which one would you recommend? Which is the best?

Someone also recommended the Cryorig M9i, any thought on that?

I haven’t used anything cryorig, so I can’t comment. But I have been using Thermalright stuff for years, and I am completely satisfied. As for if it were me? I like copper, so maybe the  AXP-100 Full Copper, or the AXP-200 Muscle because it’s got a stronger fan. It’s a tough call.
