I just have the idea of converting a Mac mini 2018 out of its shell.

It would be awesome to get rid of the heating issues with https://noctua.at/en/nh-c14s because it has a "C" built heatsink because the Ram is very inclined forward the Processor's socket.

I'm just very curious to build something out of the shell of a Mac mini to convert it into a full fledge desktop :)

Thank you

it's very mini (lol), you may have trouble doing anything as i doubt a motherboard could fit very easily.

CPU: AMD 3600X

GPU: Nvidia 3070 (planned)

motherboard: MSI B500-A PRO

memory: G Skill Ripjaws V 2x8 GB 3600Mhz CL16

PSU: EVGA B3 650@

Case: NZXT H510

wireless network adapter: intel ax200

I think that the beauty of that computer comes from it's form factor. If you were going to spend the money on making a custom case and getting a cooler + loosing the high resell value of an Apple product by modifying it, it would be far more economical to sell it and build a different computer.

If you absolutely want to do this sort of thing instead of building a Hackintosh I'd say buy a 'empty'/faulty G4 Cube on eBay and figure it out a way to install the MacMini inside it. Pretty sure if you look online someone probably have done it before so you'll have a template to do your own.

I'd rather buy a good PowerMac G5 case and built a Hackintosh (properly, not the shitty one they did on LTT video) but to each its own :)

Best of luck
