I keep seeing people recommending the WD sn750 500gb SSD, mostly from Reddit. It’s currently $70 on Amazon, which I believe is a sale? Is this drive really good or a good bang for your buck?

I am building my first PC, I was originally going go with 1tb ssd for like 120-130, but it seems like a $70 ssd with a 1 or 2tb hdd for $50 would cost the same but leave me with 1.5 tb more.

The other thing is, I don’t think I’ll ever need that much, I can’t think of what I’d put on the computer besides my games and some school documents.

Also, just to be sure, would this be compatible with the b450 Tomahawk Max?

Yes.

Also the SN750 is a good drive. Its a step above the allready excellent Phison E12 options like the silicon power A80 or MP34.

Not that its worth spending extra to get the SN over the E12. Can also just save by getting a cheaper cached sata option.

Maybe. If you're a gamer and don't really do anything else, there's no point. Just spend $50-60 on any old 500GB TLC drive with DRAM and you're good. You probably wouldn't notice the bump up. If you dabble in use cases that require you to handle large files (I mean, large files) that would take a week to open from a HDD, then you will notice the SN750, and you will love it.

I love mine. I work with big data, then do photo and video editing as hobbies. Worth every penny for me.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Providing there is any airflow in the case, it should be fine.

Seeing as they have them for $6-10 bucks on amazon, it wouldn’t hurt to get one right? I’m looking at the nzxt h510 at the moment, and it seems that it doesn’t have the best airflow.

Something like a mesh fromt case would be better.
