MWE V2 MPE-6501-ACABW-IN (80+ white 650w) the 650 watt one is just 30 cents more than the 550w

this would be a decent optionn as that is the MWE 80+ white V2.

its got some lower wattage ripple issues, but overall good.

I've found these MWE V2 MPE-5501-ACAAB-IN (80+ Bronze 550w)

dont know how the MWE 80+ bronze lines up sadly.

but it being DC-DC id assume it lines up similarly to the MWE 80+ white V2

So, I have the following choice of PSUs for a new budget build i'm gonna be doing, (most probably a 2nd/3rd gen Ryzen APU x B450). SO i decided to get a 550w PSU, allowing room for upgrades. I have the following choices
1)  Corsair CV550 ~ $60

2) Corsair VS550 ~ $45

3) Antec Atom B550 ~ $40

4) ThermalTake TR2 S 550w ~ $45

5) Antec VP550p ~ $40

6) Cooler Master MWE 550 ~ $50

7) Cooler Master Masterwatt 550 ~ $65 dollars

The total budget of the build is aimed around 300 to 350 dollars. So what PSU would y'all recommend for a build like this?

Why do you need a 550 PSU for an apu ?

Also what mobo are you getting ?

Subpart but should be good for an apu

The VS is probably better assuming it's the grey label one

It's an atomic bomb

Meh

But as I said you don't need a 550

No

Which one ?

MWE White ? Crap

Bronze ? Meh

Gold ? Good

Cooler Master Masterwatt

Not familiar with this one

Edit : get a cx450

It's alot better than all of these and you won't be needing more than 250ish watts

Also sorry I quoted the same thing twice my bad

well, im going 550 watts because maybe i'll toss in a 1650/1660 after i get the cash for it, and i want to leave room for degradation too, cuz im not a fan of upgrading often. and there's a CV550 80+ bronze fore around 60 bucks too, so idk

Edit: the link for the VS550 is here

450 even with a 2070 is probably more than enough lol

An athlon and a 1660 won't consume more then 300 at worst

Efficiency has nothing to do with quality

I might upgrade to a 3500(x) in the future too, so if 450w is enough, how much should i spend on the PSU?

CV below 650w is an upgraded VS. still group reg, but upgraded efficiency.

CV650 is a much better pick than both CV550 and VS550 (or VS650 for that matter)

the site specifies no info about that, all it says is thats its an 80+ white and the model number is MPW-5502-ACABW

well if that is the model name, then thats the V1.

in other words. avoid.

I've found these MWE V2 MPE-5501-ACAAB-IN (80+ Bronze 550w) and MWE V2 MPE-6501-ACABW-IN (80+ white 650w) the 650 watt one is just 30 cents more than the 550w

does that mean, it has ripple issues when the system is not using a lot of power? and will it affect overclocking?

it means the voltage goes out of the nominal 12v.

but it still within spec. its just not great.
