do you know if its possible to e.g delete all emails received from a certain email address such as spam or newsletters?

Yes!

In your Outlook Browser, at the top just search for whatever sender (e.g. I just searched "Linus Tech Tips" then hit Enter"). Then at the top there's a "Delete All" button that deleted all your search results. Just give it a quick scroll before you hit delete to ensure that something you wanted to keep didn't get caught up in your search results.

From my understanding you have to delete them one by one

But I could be wrong

In Outlook in your browser you can either "Select" and email then Shift + LClick another email and it will select everything in between, or you can use the "select all" check at the top of your inbox and it should select everything in that specific inbox.
