Hi, i have observed that my GPU (MSI GTX 1070) is not being utilized 99% in games like it used to be before. Maybe this happened after driver updates? I'm not sure. In games like GTA, i was getting 40%-50% GPU utilization and terrible framerates. I tried DDU and re-installing the latest drivers, Performing a clean install from Geforce Experience and reinstalling by using express installation. Even in my Geforce Control Panel, my power settings are at "Prefer maximum performance". After performing a clean install and then doing an express install again (this works on my PC for some reason), my GPU utilization got much much better but still not at 99%. Also, i have noticed that whenever i enter graphic intensive areas like cities in RDR2, my GPU utilization starts decreasing. Any help will be appreciated.

Specs: i7-4790 cooled by Cooler Master MA410p, 16GB DDR3 1600mhz, MSI GTX 1070, 240GB GIGABYTE SSD (boot), 2TB WD Blue HDD (Games), CORSAIR HX620 PSU (620w 80+ Silver)

Game performance:

GTA V:

before fixing: 40%-50% Utilization, 45-52 FPS on default preset (Very High) - Offline Mode

after fixing: 70%-80% Utilization, 63-67 FPS on default preset (Very High) should be >70FPS - Offline Mode

MW 2019:

before fixing: 70%-80% Utilization (was 99%), 80-90 FPS on low preset - TDM matches

after fixing: 95%-97% Utilization, 110-130 FPS on default preset (Very High) - TDM matches (2-3% isn't that big of a difference)

Valorant:

Only uses 30-35% of my GPU? 120-150 FPS

Red Dead Redemption 2:

before fixing: 50%-65% Utilization, 45-52 FPS on balanced preset (Medium-High) - Offline Mode

after fixing: 89%-96% Utilization, 63-67 FPS on balanced preset (Medium-High) - Offline Mode

you need to monitor temperatures as well. most nvidia cards throttle once they reach 83C.

you also need to monitor cpu utilisations. if your cpu is at 100%, it means it can't feed the gpu with the information it needs fast enough, and the gpu utilization drops.

How do you monitor all of that ?
You need to also understand that not every games gonna run at 99% utilisation at everytime. Most likekly because of a CPU bottleneck, for somes games. ( And CPU utilisation can be a great indicator, but that doesn't totally show all the story ) And that's not even bad or anything or worth a CPU upgrade ( not in your case at least ). That just mean that some games are just more CPU bound than GPU bound. For some games, you really can't force 99% utilisation, because their is always a bottleneck somewhere, and that's not even your fault or anything.
