Posted June 15, 2020 Just for gaming would probably be the ultra wide, but if you're also intending to do work on it or multi tasking in any way I think that two regular monitors would be better. Posted June 15, 2020 I used to have a Triple Wide 27" setup, but then I got a 34" UWQHD, and while not having a side monitor can sometimes suck, the Ultra wide still blows it out of the water. I would say it depends on personal preference. I prefer having proper borders between different screens, while others like everything to blend into each other. Think for yourself what you like. Either way, I've heard that gaming on ultrawides is great, so if you fancy improving that experience, I think that ultrawide + regular could indeed be a good option. Posted June 16, 2020 I'd moved from 3x 24" 1200P monitors to a single 34" UW monitor years back and haven't looked back, but my usage scenario is basically gaming and watching movies....2.35:1 movies cropped to fill entire 21:9 screen is da shizz. I've another setup with a 32:9 monitor (only 3840x1080, there's a newer version with 5120x1440 res) that is plain awesome for gaming (for games that allows for 32:9 format). ut, having a 21:9 34" monitor AND a smaller 24" 16:9 monitor for workstation use might be better and less expensive alternative.
