CPU 100% usage while gaming

I have an i5 7600k paired with a MSI GTX 1660 Ti I've notice that my CPU usage is 100% while the GPU sits around 93% while gaming on Warzone at 1440p high settings.

I've lowered the graphics to 1080p low setting and even 720p low setting but the CPU still hits 100% but the graphics card drops to around 78% is this something I should be worried about?

1440p high settings I get around 60fps

1080 high settings  I get around 85-100

Thanks.

I was actually getting this same issue and it was bothering the hell out of me. Sadly the only solution that i found was upgrading. I went from an 8700k runing 4.7 all core to a 9900k running 5.0 all core and no longer pinged 100% while play COD. I would say though try to look through your process and see what is using your CPU i found it happened to be a couple programs built into asus' bullshit that would eat 10-15% on their own, i just deleted their .exe files.

Cod is notoriously cpu bound

really any online game where there’s 10 or more people on the same map you find yourself cpu bound.

A 7600k? Yeah you are getting slightly bottlenecked. Warzone seems to be quite the demanding game and I wouldn't be surprised that a quad core is having issues in it [rant: and the fact that it takes over 200gb of space to install]

If it plays games how you want it then you shouldn't be worried, a 7600k is pretty lacking these days, but can be overclocked to help a bit with that, overall you need to determine if an upgrade is worth it to you.

Sounds like a bottleneck. Your CPU is over compensating because your GPU can't handle 1440p gaming. Upgrade your GPU.

That is completely wrong for a multitude of reasons, there are not any extra draw calls for a CPU to handle when playing at a higher resolution, in fact there would be less dependence on the CPU at higher resolutions since the GPU has to do extra work, leaving framerates lower. His CPU is simply too low of a thread count for modern games.
