Same errors on two separate computers- I have to be doing something wrong?

Hi,

As, the title suggests, I have recently built two separate computers, and they have both returned the same errors, despite having completely different hardware; I must be doing something wrong here, right? The BSODs I have received are:

- Kernel Mode Heap Corruption

- Page Fault in Nonpaged Area

- Memory Management

Also, both of these computers can run linux fine live on a flash drive, but the second i open driver manager, or click to install the OS to hard drive, then the power to the system immediately cuts. The components i use are completely unique for both machines. The specs for the first machine are:

- Intel dh55pj Motherboard

- Intel i5 650

- 4gb DDR3 RAM

- WD hard drive

And the specs for the second machine are:

- Samsung BA92-06785A motherboard

- Intel i5 450m

- 4gb DDR3L RAM

- WD hard drive

The chance that both of these machines have the exact same issue is really low, right? I think it must be me doing something wrong. So far I've tried reseating everything, swapping out for a known good PSU, using every operating system I can to see if it makes a difference, and still nothing is working. I would really appreaciate any advice you can offer.

Thanks

Oh I've already tried Memtest, it starts and after like 2 seconds the system abruptly shuts off, on both systems.

That's bad.

That's hardware.

You sure the hardware is good? Those are pretty old CPUs

Im not entirely sure it is good, but its kinda weird that both systems would have the exact same hardware problems, and they both boot completely fine from a USB and I can even access the internet. It just seems like I must be doing something wrong because of how eerily similar the problems are

Placing stress on the system using memtest and having it shut off almost immediately says mobo to me.

I'm going to assume all this hardware you have is all used?

Yeah lol its all used, this might sound like a stupid question but for troubleshooting i just put the mobo on a pack of ptinter paper, this hasn't like ruined the mobo right?

No, that was my next suggestion, that there might be a short somewhere in the case, and to take it out of the case and place on a phonebook or something.

Seems like you've thought that out.

When testing with memtest, only attach the things to the mobo that are required.

1 stick of ram, cpu and cooler, and keyboard and power supply. Unplug everything else.

I've not actually tried it without the hard drive i think, thanks for the suggestion I'll try that now

So it caused the computer to restart, but before doing so it made a low pitched beep, followed by a high pitched beep. After quickly googling it I could'nt find what that means

My guess is hardware failure, a short somewhere. I'd venture bad mobo or CPU.

If the mobo will support it, swap the CPU, and try again. But my guess is these parts are in some way defective and probably time for the recyclers.

Thanks for the help, I should be able to return it as the people who sold it to me said it was working.

Sorry it's defective, hope you get your money back.
