Will look into that, sadly here in brazil, we have few used online shops and i had some awful experiences in the past as did some of my friends, so i'm a bit skeptical of buying used here, i could maybe aford a 3770 and one 8 gig stick bringing it to 12 gig in my system

12GB would be perfect for those specs as far as the machine goes. I'd say pull the trigger.

So, I have an old prebuilt that i bought years ago and i'm deciding to upgrade, it currently has an i5 3330 @ 3ghz and a 1650 4 gb (that i bought recently) with a gigabyte h61m-ds2h rev 2.2 motherboard and was talking to a friend about it and he suggested buying a complete new motherboard, ram and cpu, but i saw some decently priced lga 1155 cpus
Should I buy everything new or should i just upgrade my cpu ?
I know it is a really dumb question because of it only supporting DDR3 ram but im on a really tight budget

When you say tight budget, how tight are we talking here?

I'd suggest a new CPU. You would be surprised how much hyper threading can help in some situations. i7 3770 is your best bet. If you wanted to go new then you would need around $200 for something decent (Ryzen 3 1200af, b450 mobo, 16gb dual channel ddr4 @ 3200mhz) (Ryzen 3 1200af because the 3100 is just astronomically expensive right now because of the coronovirus bullshart)

Look for a used 3770  and a cheap used 2x8 gig stick

If your into ocing etc maybe look for a cheap used z68 board

If you can't stick with your h61 board and get a 3770

Do you think it could work ? i have some very limited old ram too (8 gbs of ddr3) and my fear is that i could bottleneck if i bought a new cpu and i cant really upgrade my ram because ddr3 is really expensive now, i just get stuck in this loop
I live in brazil and i could only really aford the cpu and the motherboard you specified (its really tight)

Don't worry about your english, it is fine!

With a budget that tight I'd just grab a CPU upgrade to tide me over. Even taking into account the value of selling your parts I can't see you building a system that will be much better using new(er) parts personally.

Yeah then your best bet is just to buy a new CPU. 8GB of RAM is still cutting it a little bit slim but personally the only 2 games I've played that complained about having 8GB of RAM is Star Citizen (yes yes laugh it up) and modded Minecraft.

That should be decent but if used market is not available I would say keep the 3330 and the 1650 if it does what you need it so otherwise upgrade
