could some one tell me if Alienware AW2518HF is g-sync compatible ?

Doesn't matter if it is or not, you can always just enable free-sync in the geforce drivers

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

isn't free sync for AMD ?

NVIDIA started supporting free-sync a while ago

G-sync compatible is just free-sync.

I believe the Alienware AW2518H is the G-Sync model while the Alienware AW2518HF is the FreeSync model.

yeah I seen that but was trying to save a few bucks, by seeing if the Alienware AW2518HF model was g-sync compatible. was hoping that NVidia brought out an update.

There's a reason they are 2 different models, if you could run G-Sync on the Alienware AW2518HF, then it would be the exact same thing as the Alienware AW2518H. Like mentioned above it is possible to run G-Sync on FreeSync displays, but results are not guaranteed unless it says "G-Sync Compatible".

most freesync monitor are g-sync compatible, and yes they are largely the same - although you should do a bit of research yourself as not all of them are or at lest not fully at all variable refresh rate range
