I just recently purchased a evga 2070 super ultra xc video card, and the power supply I have is a evga650bq. the reason i am only listing these two is because I originally had a 1050ti inside of it and ran fine with no problems. I just received the new 2070 super today and as soon as I installed it I ran the CoD:Warzone to see how it looked. As soon as it started the card gave off extreme heat and the frames started dropping. I am thinking it is the power supply. I have read the evga 650bq is not a very good psu, anyone have some insight on this?

Full specs? How's the ventilation inside your case?

The BQ isn't an exceptional PSU by any stretch but I mean it should handle a 2070S. This also doesn't sound like a PSU related issue to me, at least in the way that you described it so far.

If it's the solid front panel 275R that you have then that could sort of explain the higher than average temperatures, since it's really quite a poor performer when it comes to thermals.

Use DDU to get rid of your current video drivers, then reinstall the latest from the GeForce website. Also, use something like MSI Afterburner to check temperatures and clock speeds in-game, and let us know what numbers you see.

The case is a corsair 275r carbide and the ventilation is more than enough I think, 3 120mms in the front and the cpu is running the Scythe Mugen Rev 5 B, and of course the exhaust fan on the back of the case.

Agree with what @Mateyyy is saying.

The RTX 2070S is the much more powerful card, and it also generates more heat compared to a GTX 1050 Ti.

The fully closed front 275R will restrict quite a bit of airflow compared to the 275R AIRFLOW variant of the case.

Also a good idea to setup a custom fan curve/profile for the RTX 2070S.

This, and maybe a slight undervolt too.
