I got a 2600K and board SUPER CHEAP (like 65% off each compared to what others are going for) on eBay recently that I couldn't resist, (I did get a 3770K for £90 but he canceled, no wonder...).

I checked out Linus' old NCIX video but it's a bit old at this point so I was hoping for something a little more modern.

Jayz2Cents video looks quite promising (3770K), it's the first time I've been with Intel since Conroe (65nms) back in 2007 or so so I need something as comprehensive as possible to cover everything.

Is the process for Ivy Chips the Same as Sandy (with different voltages) as they're the same platform?

What I have:

i7 2600K

ASUS P8Z77-V

Here's a nice thread about Ivy bridge overclocking over at overclock.net http://www.overclock.net/t/1291703/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboards

Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge should overclock about the same however I remember that Sandy Bridge was easier to achieve higher overclocks before Ivy Bridge introduced 3D Transistors which created more heat

Thanks for that thread, I'll see what kinda chip I get when it comes, the guy is selling it with a used stock cooler so I *think* he may never have tried.

I would think they might have had a go, sandy's run very cool and so you can achieve a fairly decent oc on the stock cooler with a low ambient temperature.
