Doesnt power up

Ive recently built a new pc, only thing missing is a GPU, but I wanted to make sure everything works that I have now, my Z87-A has a green LED that comes on when the AX860 PSU is turned on but I go to press the power button and nothing happens, the front fans spin for a split second but I think thats due to them being connected straight to the PSU via molex. Any help? could it be the power button itself?

Also in the picture I have no RAM installed, but I took 2x2GB sticks from my current pc and installed them.

Well you could try to short the pins with screwdriver to boot the system. If it boots you either plug the power button wrongly or the power button is bad.

By putting a screwdriver in between them.

This may be differerent with some motherboards. I am not exactly sure if its normalised. Consult your manual.

 

You need to touch the power button pins. Basically you do the same thing that power button does, without the power button
