Latency suddenly increased for whole household.

Are you seeing this behaviour on a wired or wireless connection?

If you run a speed test, what ping and speeds do you observe?

Run a trace route to Cloudflare in the command prompt and tell us what you see...

tracert 1.1.1.1

Then run a trace route to the game servers to see where the ping increases.

From one day to the next the latency of our internet connection suddenly increased. Every device on the network is affected.

Some of the notable changes are:

Ping in Cs:Go: 7-10 -> 70-100

LoL: 18-30 -> 90-180

TFT: 18:30 -> 150-300

I could swear youtube videos also have a much larger delay before playing and pausing, although I don't know why that would happen if the video is buffered locally.

How do I go about troubleshooting such an issue?

Edit: Pinging my default gateway results in under 1ms.

Connection is wired.

First Speedtest run: 374ms Ping

on subsequent tries it stayed around 27ms

Tracert 1.1.1.1

Seems their infra is overloaded and the ASR9K boxes are probably doing a lot of QoS to try and keep things in check from the bandwidth side of things so that critical traffic can get through. I would still show your ISP the traceroute info, maybe they can investigate internally.

Edit:

I slightly misread the traceroute at first but the first hop is likely where the latency lies for the most part although the other hops aren't exactly great either especially if you're in Austria then something is (or many things are0 definitely overloaded.
