What are you checking temperatures with?
Have you checked that the cooler is seated properly?

yes it is seated properly i checked in the bios and in msi afterburner

So it's in the 70s in the BIOS?

When you're in Windows, use either Ryzen Master or HWiNFO for accurate temperature readings for Ryzen.

Also, update the BIOS to the latest version if you haven't already.

i did update the bios to the latest version i will check ryzen master and write what happens

What cooler are you using? Try putting it under load and see what happens to your temp. Your max safe temp before thermal throttle is 95C, so I would just put it under load and stop it if your temps hit 90C and keep climbing.

Gaming Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x   |  GPU: Asus ROG STRIX 2080 SUPER Advanced (2115Mhz Core | 9251Mhz Memory) |  Motherboard: Asus X570 TUF GAMING-PLUS  |  RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3600MHz 16GB  |  PSU: Corsair RM850x  |  Storage: 1TB ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, 250GB Samsung 840 Evo, 500GB Samsung 840 Evo  |  Cooler: Corsair H115i Pro XT  |  Case: Lian Li PC-O11

Peripherals:

Monitor: LG 34GK950F  |  Sound: Sennheiser HD 598  |  Mic: Blue Yeti  |  Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum  |  Mouse: Logitech G502

Laptop:

Asus ROG Zephryus G15

Ryzen 7 4800HS, GTX1660Ti, 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz, 512GB nVME, 144hz

And what does it show up as in the BIOS?

If the temperature is this high in the BIOS too, then I'd chalk it up to a bad cooler mount. If it's normal in the BIOS, I'd try doing a fresh Windows install (if you're running an older install of Windows).

I guess that's all we need to know/. I'd suggest remounting. Remember to clean all the old paste off, and use a rice grain sized amount of new stuff, and once you press down with the cooler, you can't lift it up. So paste down, line everything up, firm pressure down, and mount it until it's tight.
