Hello,

So I've been trying for a couple of days now to understand what RAM I should by for an AsRock B450M Pro4 and Ryzen 5 3400G APU combo (I'm not planning much gaming). However, I am extremely confused as to what will and won't work. I am looking at a VENGEANCE LPX (2X4GB) DDR4 3000MHZ dual channel (CMK8GX4M2C3000) but it only mentions compatibility with Intel's Skylake. Also I would consider 2x8GB but am unsure if that would 100% work.

Sorry if this is stupid, but for my first build I don't want to chuck 50-80 out the window for nothing.

Thanks

Very few ram modules say they're compatible with Ryzen, but the vast majority are fine. 2x8GB is also fine, and is in fact recommended for a gaming PC, especially with an APU like the 3400G, if you're not using a graphics card.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
