So I have a closed front case with limited air slots, I do have a filtered top opening and obviously rear but I’m just wondering what’s the best case fan setup for a case that doesn’t have an open front grate which limits airflow? Thought about possibly reversing psu for extra fan but the case has a basement, I have 5 fans to use so I was thinking 3 intake in front and 1top exhaust to go with rear exhaust

Edit: incase it helps I have a darkflash J11 case, noctua nhu-12s cpu cooler and msi 2060 gaming Z with dual fans

Case looks like it has side vents on front panel. What are your actual temps? If you are using only stock case fans, bad temps could be just because fans don't perform.

With 5 fans I'd do 3 front intake, one top intake (closest to the front) and rear exhaust. You won't build any real static positive pressure to be concerned about needing more exhaust for fans to perform. Excess air will easily push out of unused PCI slots and the one exhaust fan. The extra top intake will push extra fresh air towards the CPU cooler and allow the GPU to receive more as well.

With top exhaust you have to be careful, it will pull warm air from the GPU to the CPU. I just switched my front top from exhaust to intake and I dropped CPU load temps by 5 degrees when the GPU is being stressed at the same time. Gaming performance didn't change and I didn't compare gaming temps, my CPU never gets that warm while gaming. I also have side intakes for the GPU, so my case design isn't identical either.
