Right. It can handle what you mobo can.

so, I think I'm going to get this 2 pack (one for my bedroom, one for my pc area) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076FPGWNZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A20J3ITGSOMSJG&psc=1

And one of these for my PC that has a USB C 3.1 Gen 2 port https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7NS3DD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I think every thing checks out

So, I just ordered an unlocked Galaxy S10 off of Amazon for $599 to replace my old Galaxy S7 edge (which is pretty cool, because one year ago it was $899). Well I have a question in regards to what chargers I should buy for it (I am totally oblivious to the USB C world). I see USB C to USB A cords, but I also see USB C to USB C cords which would require me to get a couple USB C wall plugs (which I wouldn't mind doing at all, I'm already $615 dollars in if you factor the case I ordered with it).

Should I get USB C to USB C cords and new wall plugs? Will they charge my phone quicker than USB C to USB A cords?

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3070 RAM: 32GB 3200mHz Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Display: Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz 27" (2560p x 1440p) NVIDIA G-SYNC IPS MOBO: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK STORAGE: 120GB SSD boot drive, 10tb USB 3.0 Seagate game drive PSU: 650w Corsair CX CASE: NZXT H500i

There is no problem with using standard USB A to USB C chargers, that's what I primarily use with my galaxy note 8.

Under specific circumstances, a type C to type C connection can charge faster, but that's much more dependent on what you're charging from, not necessarily the cable.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

USB C is not a protocol standard it’s a form factor.  While better,  It’s arguably less accurate than old style “guess the plug size” stuff from the 1980’s.  If you plug a rando usbC cable into a rando USBC port they will talk to each other, determine what the shared maximum is, and work.  More or less.  You may get some real real slow charging or partial activation though.   USB1.0 was 5w, so there will always be that.  There are USBs that go up to 16w though.  If the power source can only do 5w but the receiver can take 16w it may charge extremely slowly or barely function or not function.

Data is even worse.  The highest USB protocols are 20 times faster than the slowest.

It’s best to know the protocol for both ports and make sure that if they’re not the same they’re still close enough to do what you need.  Just “USBC” is not enough.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Okay, a bit confused here. So are you saying I should get USB C to USB C cords and a USB C wall plug for charging? Or are you saying that it's a case-by-case situation?

would it be better to buy a USB C to USB C cord that meets the specifications of "3A Fast Charging" and a new USB C charger block that hits 5V / 3A, or should I just get a USB C to USB and a similar charging block that is rated for 5V / 3A?

If you get a really modern which I guess atm is USB 3.1 gen 2 (Gonna be USB4.0 soon) wall plug and stick a USB 1.0 dingus on it the charger will feed it 5w and everything is roses. What gets complicated is when it goes in the other direction or when both  devices are 3.1 gen2 but the cable is 1.0.

ah, so I should be fine with getting a couple of USB C to USB 2.0 cords that are rated at 5V / 3.1A for my charging stations, and maybe getting a normal USB C 3.1 Gen 2 for my PC?

As long as you understand that there is no “normal”. There’s an argument for getting the the most modern power system and cables you can.  Backwards compatible works but forward compatible can be very iffy.

My motherboard has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, so I could just buy a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C cord and keep it plugged into my PC for stuff like fine transfers, right?

If you got an unlocked S10 for "cheap" its probably a global model that has the Exynos chipset which is a lot less desirable. A lot of tards are mistaking this as "Samsung phones lose value quickly" and spreading misinformation.

The S10 supports 15W Power Delivery. So if you want the best charging speed, look for a charger that explicity states Power Delivery and at least 15W out of the USB-C port. And then couple it with a C to C cable explicitly made for charging.

Example of Type C PD cable

You should not have trouble finding a PD charger with type C port

I did my research, it's a SNAPDRAGON 855. It also states that it's the US version, from Samsung's amazon page. So if I get the EXYNOS version, then It's purely false advertisement.

It's 20% off atm
